We believe this is a special get-away from the hustle-bustle of a metro and for those who would like some ‘interaction’ with Mother Nature – either active or passive! Spread across an expanse of 21 acres, Annapoorna Farm is a small place as far as agro-tourism ventures go
How To Reach Here
- When leaving from Mumbai, take the old Mumbai-Pune highway.
- From Panvel travel 27 km towards Pune. Reach Chowk phata. Take a left from Chowk phata; this is common road for Karjat, Matheran.
- Travel 12 km after chowk phata, you come to Karjat phata. Take straight road. The left takes you to Neral, Matheran.
- From Karjat phata, travel for 4 km & take left to cross Sri Ram bridge. On crossing take left again towards Murbad.
- Travel 10km straight & pass Kadav.
- From Kadav 1.5 km is Habitat Poultry Farm. You would find a stone wall on the left side of the road.
- Stop at Habitat & we would provide an escort to take you to Annapoorna Farm.
- It is recommended to take the old Mumbai-Pune highway. But if you do take the expressway, make sure to use it only till Lonavala. Find Khopoli exit on the expressway.
- Cross Khopoli & 4km after you pass Khopoli is a right. You would find signboards for Karjat, Palasdari. Etc.
- After this right, continue for 17 km.
- You would reach a T-junction. Take right from here and travel for 4km.
- You come to Karjat phata. Take straight road. The left takes you to Neral, Matheran.
- From Karjat phata, travel for 4 km & take left to cross Sri Ram bridge. On crossing take left again towards Murbad.
- Travel 10km straight & pass Kadav.
- From Kadav 1.5 km is Habitat Poultry Farm. You would find a stone wall on the left side of the road.
- Stop at Habitat & we would provide an escort to take you to Annapoorna Farm.
- Karjat is an important train junction. Hence most of the Mumbai-Pune express trains have a scheduled stop at Karjat. If you plan on coming to Karjat by train, you could discuss this with us & we could suggest you the best option. Subsequent arrangement for travel from the station to Annapoorna can be arranged on request.

Accommodation Details
Presently Annapoorna has 3 cottages with tiled roofs and Warli-art adorned walls. The rustic exterior belies the comfortable & spacious interiors of each room of the cottages. These cottages overlook the Pej River & have nice sit-outs (verandahs) with luscious lawns in front.
- OF the 3, 2 cottages have four 4-bedded self-contained rooms. The third cottage is a 16-bedded self-contained dormitory.
- Thus, the total capacity for Annapoorna Farms is 30 persons. We recommend people to visit Annapoorna in groups.
- For day picnics / outings, the infrastructure can comfortably support groups of up to 50 people.
Food Details
- At Annapoorna, we offer you unlimited Veg / Non-Veg meals cooked in Maharashtrian / Konkani style. The package also includes breakfast & tea for the duration you stay here. Since we do not have a a-la-carte restaurant here, we advise patrons to discuss food preferences while booking.
- You could also enjoy barbeques (Veg & Non-Veg). If you want, you & your friends could try your hand at barbequing and enjoy the Tandoori under the clear skies.

Things you can do in or around Annapoorna Farms
- There is no dearth of options for activities that you can do at Annapoorna. If you have come to escape from the everyday stress you experience in the city, you could play around in the swimming pool with your friends; or maybe have a nap under the shade of Mango trees amidst the chirping of birds; or you could lie in the hammock with your favourite book to give you company.
- For those interested, we also show around the farm & the various agriculture activities currently in Annapoorna. This proves to be an invaluable & unique learning experience especially for the kids.
- For corporates, we also have large open tracts of land where they could engage in team building activities & games. Suitable arrangements can be made on discussion.

Treks & Nature Trails
Bhimashankar Trek
Bhimashankar situated in the village of Bhavagiri, is a famous pilgrimage site at the end of the Sahyadri range. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in India. The beautiful stone temple around 3296 feet high and the feeling of being lost in wilderness has made Bhimashankar a major trekking destination.
Peth fort
Karjat is well-known for trekking, as each route gives a glimpse into the rich history of the Mogul era. There are several forts in and around Karjat waiting to be explored. One of them is the fort of Peth, also known as Kothaligad, which is around 21 kms north-east of Karjat.
Kondana Caves
A journey to the 8 Buddhist caves of the Hinayana Buddhist tradition which is a one hour trek from the Kondane village. The Kondana caves enclose sculptures, vihara, cahitya and stupas, specimens of ancient Buddhist architecture. Although there was an earth quake in the early 1900s many stupas, the front entrance and the floor of the caves were damaged. high and the feeling of being lost in wilderness has made Bhimashankar a major trekking destination.

Ganapati temple at Kadav & Lord Shiva temple at Vaijanath are ancient temples around the area which must be visited.
